The season of Christmas decor.

First let me start by saying, how in the world are we days away from Christmas? I think a big part of Austin being gone leading right up to the holiday season the last two years has made it all that much more of a blur. While I worked hard to not let it effect decorating this year I can't help but feel like something is missing. I took these photos last week and already almost everything is changed.
I have debated even sharing my Christmas decor this year, because honestly I don't feel like it is good enough. But I decided to push my thoughts back and remind myself that we are our own worst critic. Next year I am hoping to add more greenery, and more wooden signs to liven things up. But for now, here you go. Some of my decorations for this Christmas season.

Who knows, maybe I will feel extra motivated and share some more photos that include the changes I made. Let me know if you would like that in the comments below, or you can always find me on Instagram or Facebook to chat. As always thank you for being here, and I truly wish you the merriest of Christmas's.

Last minute Christmas gifts for everyone in your family.

Christmas day is ridiculously close but it isn't to late to snag some awesome gifts for some loved ones. Or if your family is anything like mine, some ideas on what to do with that cash they send you. Here are a few items that you can find under our tree this year.
Have a teenage brother who is always breaking his phone? A wife who likes hers to look stylish. Well, Madison Ave Cases has you covered and a new case would make the perfect stocking stuffer!
I have been wanting to give Piper a Hazel Village organic stuffed animal since she was born. I found the sweetest collection of them, along with a ton of other adorable brands at a sweet little boutique called Ela & Glo. I can't wait to do more shopping for unique gifts.
I was lucky enough to receive a Jord wood watch myself this year so I knew Austin needed one for himself this Christmas. They have stunning selections for both men and women, and their unique watches are sure to catch the eye of everyone in the room.
I can't help it, I have to be a little practical. We all need shoes and Skechers has great options to update the foot wear for everyone in the family.
You can't go wrong with personalized drink wear and Arla Creations is the place to go for all things personalized in the kitchen. I have a couple pieces from her shop that I use regularly. I recommend a wine glass for the lady in your life, and Yeti tumbler for the man.
Milkbarn Kids is forever winning us over with their adorable prints. Oh, and have I mentioned the hedgehogs? Any chance we get we are adding some of their stuff into Pipers closet and I am not quite sure what I am going to do when she outgrows their clothing. Besides cry, I mean I obviously will cry.
What on earth do you buy for the kids that have everything? Well I have a really good suggestion! M is for Monster is FUN education activities you can order one at a time, or thru a monthly subscription. Lilly LOVES her box and asks every day if we can do another one.
You have seen me talk about Ostheimer toys before and I probably will again. Every holiday we add more figurines from The Wooden Wagon because the girls love them so much. I can't wait to see how they play with the ones we got for the dollhouse Santa brings.
Moms and Dads, we both have pretty similar wardrobes... a t-shirt and some jeans. Revol Roots has some great comfy shirts for both mom, dad, and their kids.

a fun corner to play
12/12/2016
When you walk into our house the first room you can see is the playroom, and honestly it drives me crazy. I don't want the first impression visitors get is loads of toys, and thats not what I want to be welcomed to. Not to mention, these wild girls of mine just dump every single toy out and walk away. So after reading an article about a mom who got rid of 90% of her kids toys and saw nothing but positive results I had been thinking a lot about downsizing the playroom.
So, I finally made the decision to make the playroom more of a family room and phase some toys out. We have got rid of quite a bit and what was left we moved upstairs. So instead of a whole room my goal was for the girls to have a corner where we rotated their stuff. I saw a house painted on a wall behind a kitchen online and I knew I had to recreate it for their space.

To do this I had to sell the corner kitchen they had and downsize to this one, but it is blue so Lilly is over the moon. To do this I just taped the outline of a kitchen and painted the wall. Then when Austin got home he helped me hang the shelf. Okay, thats a lie... he hung the shelf for me. The playroom transformation is far from over, but so far we are loving this area.

Adding a chippy old door into our living space.
12/08/2016
Hi guys, before I started this post I wanted to say thank you to everyone who reached out and wished us well with the return of my husband Austin from deployment. I have been taking a break from social media and limiting my time on here as we enjoy the rest of this week as a family before he returns to work. But I have received all of your love and it means so much.
If you have been watching my Instagram stories you saw me asking how you felt about the door I moved into my living room. A few of you messaged me back saying you wanted to see more of it so here I am with a full post for y'all.
I bought this door off a friend months ago for a specific project. But I decided not to go the route I originally planned and I was left with a door I had no purpose for. Obviously this chippy door is way to perfect to part with so it sat on my porch waiting to find the perfect space in our home. Well this week I started clearing off the porch so we can begin decorating for Christmas and that meant the door needed to go inside somewhere. I could only find one blank wall so into the living room it came.
This little area has been empty for a few months so I am not quite sure why I didn't think to put the door there earlier but in the last few days it really has grown on me. The pop of green as we bring in Christmas decor is extra lovely and I can't wait to see what it looks like when we finish. I think it adds so much to the space and my only regret is not doing it sooner.
